Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Rochester

Elizabeth's Restaurant

154 High St, Rochester ME1 1ER, UK – 01634 843472

Decided to go out rather than cook and asked Google for a good restaurant. Found it! The food and serivce were great. welcoming and warm with a very good gin and wine selection.. beautifully cooked meal for 2 with wine, drinks, coffee £85.00 great value. So why a 4 star not 5..trained chef's spot minor errors. That didn't detract from our evening and will return. Thank you Elizabeth's

Very nice up market restaurant with very well presented waiters/waitresses. Very polite and very well organised. Food is fantastic and the menu is great with a good selection. All for a very affordable price. Worth trying if only for the experience of dressing up smart and feeling like your a part of a higher class (posh type restaurant) but for a price very unlike a posh type restaurant

Oliver's Bar & Restaurant

186 High St, Rochester ME1 1EY, UK – 01634 847629

Nice to sit outside although on highstreet. Nice decor but can get very busy. Nice cocktail selection.

We had a wonderful time last night for our Christmas dinner. The staff was patient, kind and made sure everything was perfect for us. Good food, good ambiance and a beautifully decorated table. Thank you Jako and his team !

Pizza Express

21-23 High St, Rochester ME1 1LN, UK – 01634 812171

The Rochester Pizza Express is more unique than other Pizza Express restaurants insofar as it features historical references to Rochester's heritage, with a quirky oil painting of Dickens and other interesting features. Personally, I rate the Pizza Express pizzas. . especially the Romano based ones. The house wine is better than average too. Look out for the quirky duck egg blue chairs ... and try and sit at a window table and enjoy people watching whilst sipping a glass of Montepulciano d*Abruzzo.

Great food but mixed service from the owner and son. The son was great, the dad not so especially when offering to serve someone who was behind us in the que first! The golden rule is to take note of your waiting customers.
